Cosmic has shared the following update regarding the recent network disruptions:

We have implemented multiple fixes over the last 24-36 hours, and we are seeing significant reductions in affected traffic. We are continuing to make by the minute adjustments, and are in talks with our upstreams to complete pending changes and upgrades.

We will continue to monitor and keep you informed as Cosmic progresses with these improvements.

We want to provide transparency regarding the network disruptions some customers have experienced.

At present, the Internet is experiencing significant instability due to a record-breaking DDoS botnet known as Aisuru. These attacks are reaching multi-terabit per second (Tbps) levels—so large that they not only impact targeted networks but also cause congestion across Internet service providers and upstream carriers worldwide. The effects extend far beyond any single provider, with services across the globe being affected.

To mitigate these disruptions, we are actively shifting traffic between multiple DDoS protection partners and working with upstream carriers. Our team is continuously monitoring attack patterns, making real-time routing adjustments to divert traffic away from congested paths, and coordinating with partners to accelerate recovery during instability.

It’s important to note that no provider is completely immune to this botnet due to its unprecedented scale. Industry leaders such as OVH, GSL, Cosmic Guard, Path, NeoProtect, and others have all experienced similar challenges. When an attack targets a protection provider’s own network, temporary instability may still occur until routes are rebalanced. Even with multiple layers of protection in place, attacks of this magnitude can cause unavoidable disruption.

Online gaming services are especially sensitive to these conditions. Even brief spikes in packet loss or latency can trigger lag, disconnects, or timeouts before routing adjustments take effect.

Please know that keeping your services stable and resilient is our highest priority. Our team is on 24/7 watch, continuing to adjust traffic flows and coordinate closely with our protection partners as this situation evolves. While these attacks are unprecedented in scale and impact, we remain fully committed to minimizing their effect and maintaining stability for our customers.
